Thanksgiving is here and I'm glad for it. I am thankful that we live in a country which, whether it is clearly thinking christianly or not about such things, still encourages its citizens to take time to give thanks. As a child of God, I, of all people, should have a heart overflowing with gratitude. I must confess, I'm not always thankful. I've breathed in too much of our cultural air––you know, that air of entitlement which says, even while it sits in streets and city parks and uses all the accoutrements of modern life, "I deserve this or that, so you'd best be givin' it to me!" It's a terrible attitude, probably about as far away from gratitude as you could get.
So, before I go off all negative and forget that I was going to be grateful, let me get grateful.
