The more I read the Bible, the more I study it and prepare for sermons, along with my advancing age (and by that I'm hoping there is a consequential maturing), the more I marvel at the way Scriptures are connected.
Last week, Tony Reineke pointed out this fascinating visual representation of that very interconnectedness of Scripture. It seems a couple of men who had time and "know-how" did some number-crunching visualization work and came up with this graphic:
The bars along the bottom represent the chapters in the Bible. The rainbow arches represent the cross-referencing process of over 63,000 cross-references. Visually stunning and a beautiful representation that God's Word is all connected; it's not just a bunch of random writings from random people about random stuff. I don't understand how they came up with all this; I just know it reminds me of the coherence of God's Word to us.
…but I love your law.
Seven times a day I praise you
for your righteous rules.
Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble.
I hope for your salvation, O Lord,
and I do your commandments.
My soul keeps your testimonies;
I love them exceedingly.
I keep your precepts and testimonies,
for all my ways are before you.
Psalm 119.163b–167, ESV
