What Do You Do When Your Ill?

Whatever has settled into my chest has made it very difficult to get much of anything done. I sleep a lot. I mean a lot; like up to 15 hours each night/day a lot. Maybe my body is trying to catch up for all those 5 hours nights.

My brain's also kind of mushy. In the morning, having slept for 10+ hours and on over-the-counter meds, it's just in a fog. Coffee just doesn't taste good right now (this is a huge deal for me) so it just takes a long time to wear off the clouds in my head. When I do try to read, I'm finding that the ability to concentrate is the biggest battle.

So, I'm wandering the internet some of the time. StumbleUpon.com can be a fun ride at times; you just never know where you'll end up. One of the more fascinating sites it dropped on me was The Atlantic's "In Focus" page, which featured the National Geographic's Photo Contest. Say what you want against NG's stance on evolutionary theory, they can find some amazing photographs. Check this out the next time you're really sick and don't have the strength to do much else––or just go look now!

Eye Reflection

The rock formation, Uluru, is reflected in this observer's eye.

Frozen Bubbles

This image was taken in wintertime in an arid area of the Canadian Rockies. Temperatures were below 30 degrees celsius, yet because there was no snow fall, the surface of the lake was uncovered, allowing me to see and capture the bubbles (gases released from the lake bed) that were trapped in the frozen waters.
