Word of the Day

I won't do this every day, but since I received the 365 Words a Year word-a-day calendar, I thought I'd offer you the first for the new year:


syncretic – adj: characterized or brought about by the combination of different forms of belief or practice.

Dr. Portman and his partners practice a syncretic form of medicine, borrowing from both Eastern and Western medical traditions.
